FAQ
When is the best time to book my newborn session?
Newborn sessions are best photographed when baby is 5-10 days new, or within the first two weeks of birth. Sessions are booked in advance, prior to baby's delivery date. When booking, we decide on a tentative date 5-10 days after baby's due date, and then parents let me know when baby has arrived! From there, we decide if we can keep the originally scheduled date, or if we need to change it.
What should I bring to my newborn session?
Parents are welcome to bring any items they would like to include in the session, but do not have to! I provide all wraps, props, and accessories for your newborn session. Please bring along extra diapers, wipes, formula (if bottle feeding), and a pacifier if baby uses one.
How long will the newborn session last?
Newborn sessions typically last 2-3 hours.
How should I prepare for my newborn session?
Please plan to keep baby awake as best you can before our session. It is so helpful if baby is nice and sleepy when they arrive in studio. Please feed baby before the session, and plan to feed again when you arrive. I recommend bringing enough formula for three feedings if bottle feeding, although we don't typically need that many. The studio will be warm to keep baby cozy and sleepy, so I also recommend dressing in light, comfortable clothing so you are as comfortable as possible. I will have snacks, water, and coffee for you, and you may also bring along anything you would like. New parents need a moment to eat! :) This is also a great opportunity to reply to any messages and get caught up on things while baby is in session, so it's a great idea to charge up your devices and relax while you're here! :)
What if my baby is born early/late?
You don't have to worry at all! I only schedule a limited number of newborn sessions per month to allow time for rescheduling.
Can I schedule a session if my baby is older than two weeks?
Yes! If your baby is older, we can still take beautiful images with more relaxed posing.
